James Robert “Robert” Finley, 53, Indianapolis

James Robert “Robert” Finley, age 53 passed away Sunday, February 6, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was a resident of Marion County.

He was born Aug. 28, 1956, in Amo, Indiana to the late Bud and Lona (Spear) Finley. 

James is survived by his loving family, which include sisters:  Betty and her husband Charles Gettings of Nicholasville KY, Liz Montgomery of Martinsville, Lola and her husband Bill Pope of Lawrenceburg TN, Kay and her husband Richard Nungester of Plainfield, Susie and her husband Carol Lucas of Nashville,  Nola and her husband Jack Pryor of Morgantown, Jackie and her husband Milan Tyler of Poland, IN, Stella Riffel of Gosport, Linda Burleson of Waldron Ark., and Sister-In-Law Toots Finley of Nashville; Brothers: Thomas and his wife Sandy Finley of Trafalgar and Edward Finley of Nashville; several nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by two sisters:  Peggy Hunter and Alice Finley; three brothers: Willis, Allen and Charles Finley.

He was a member of the 91st Street Church in Indianapolis.  James participated in the Special Olympics for many years.  He received several medals and ribbons for Track and Field and Basketball.  His hobbies included fishing and working with wood.  James enjoyed playing the guitar and loved performing Elvis impersonations. 

David Hogue will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 am, Friday at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation and Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street, Morgantown.  Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery Morgantown.
