FCHS Students Demonstrate Skills

FRANKLIN, Ind – Thursday, February 4th, 2010 was middleschool visitation night at the Franklin Community High School. 7th and 8th graders and parents were treated to a tour and exposure to the various departments available for their upcoming classes.
Among these areas of study is the always interesting “Technology Classes” including: Manufacturing, Construction, Engineering, Communications, Transportation and Architecture.
Teachers Cory Cooper and Charles Hessman put together a display of some of the products the students have made in their classes. 4 of the students below were demonstrating the Vex Robots they have assembled in Cory Coopers 3rd period Design Process class. The robots were remote/radio controlled, running on rechargeable batteries and designed by the students to pickup pingpong sized balls and deliver them to boxes at the four corners of the practice area.
Left to Right are Design Process Students: Senior Isiah Calhoun, Junior Mason Hamilton, Sophomore Steven Brown and Junior Patrick Cheek.
